How To Guide: How to Make Lilly Smile

It is amazing what works to get a crying baby to not only go silent but to smile. Just prior to this video clip Lilly was not very happy. We tried feeding, diaper changes, etc but nothing seemed to put her in a good mood until we turned on ABBA. Yes, Lilly has a thing for ABBA - specifically the Momma Mia song on the Momma Mia soundtrack. Watch her reaction... we get this every time we turn it on.

This is the first time Lilly's been able to sit in her bumbo chair without falling over. I set her up in front of me but she found something more interesting to watch. Like mother, like daughter I guess...

Last weekend we were up at Grandma and Grandad Johnson's house at Mt. Hood and Lilly went on her first hike. We weren't out very long though - there was snow and it was cold!

Lilly's First Trip to Sacramento!

The last weekend of January, we had our first big adventure and flew down to Sacramento. Lilly got to meet all of our California friends and family! We had a great time and Lilly did great being passed from person to person. Here are a few pictures from that weekend.

Lilly's First Trip To Downtown Portland

On a sunny BUT cold Sunday afternoon we loaded Lilly in the car and headed to downtown Portland. With Lilly bundled up in the stroller staying warm we walked along the waterfront and through the city streets. We stepped into a coffee shop to get warm and polished off the night strolling through the walls of children books at Powell's before calling it a day.
